About this event
Daniel Silveira interrogates Professor Dennis Hayes about whether free speech is absolute at a Battle of Ideas satellite event.
Full description from organizerShow less
At this Battle of Ideas satellite, Daniel Silveira will be interrogating Professor Dennis Hayes about the idea the free speech is absolute. At several conferences and events in the summer the AFAF team had heated debates with self-declared free speech 'asolutists' who wanted to restrict free speech. We decided to have this debate out in public. Vanessa Pupavac (Nottingham AFAF) will chair a discussion between Daniel Silveira (Buckingham AFAF) and Dennis Hayes (AFAF, Director) about whether free speech is absolute. AFAF believes in free speech, no ifs, no buts. Come along and bring your 'buts'. After all, no one really believes that free speech is absolute, or do they? This East Midlands Salon/Battle of Ideas satellite event is produced by Ruth Mieschbuehler (Derby AFAF)
