Refresh your knowledge as a Designated Safeguarding Lead and ensure you're up to date with the latest practices in safeguarding children. Essential Awareness of Safeguarding for Early Years Settings (Refresher) For: Universal* - this course is only available to staff or volunteers working in a registered childcare provision operating in Leicestershire Live Event: Thursday 12 November 2026 - 14:00pm - 17:30pm Where: Park House, Glenfield, LE3 8DL Please note, bookings for this course will close 3 working days before the session is due to start We love delivering to Early Year providers, your ability to work with some of our most vulnerable children is inspiring, we want to help you to continue to protect and support them in their early years, this session is designed to do just that, but we do need delegates to be able to fully engage with the session and with other delegates and the trainer. In the E-Learning and in the in person session we will discuss the areas below What is Safeguarding? What is Child Protection? What is the difference ? Understand the thresholds of intervention What are the Principles of Safeguarding and the legislation, national policies, codes of conduct and professional practice that underpins it. The main categories of abuse, harm and neglect. How to respond, record and effectively refer concerns or allegations related to safeguarding in a timely and appropriate way.
