Surya Rhythm Festival presents: Autumn Equinox - Lisa Knapp & Gerry Diver

Alongside their live performance, we'll spend the day exploring different ways of experiencing music, sound and movement — from morning yoga & immersive sound journey, to song circle and voice activation, DJ sets, and an evening of dancing. LISA KNAPP & GERRY DIVER Lisa Knapp and Gerry Diver are a remarkable musical partnership at the forefront of contemporary folk. Lisa’s spellbinding vocals and command of traditional song blend seamlessly with Gerry’s acclaimed production and multi-instrumental talents. Together, they create richly textured, emotionally resonant music rooted in English and Irish traditions, layering twin fiddles, voice, percussion, autoharp, electronica and field recordings into bold, atmospheric arrangements. Their 2025 album Hinterland was praised as “Folk at its most exalted” by The Observer, “A marvel” by Mojo magazine, and “Utterly haunting” by Songlines. Their live shows bring the album to life with intimacy, innovation, and intensity. A DAY OF MUSIC, SOUND & MOVEMENT Expect the usual Suryanesss — good music, people, plenty of good vibrations and a few shenanigans along the way. Come and sing, listen, receive, move, dance and connect with like-minded people. PROGRAMME 10:30/ 11 AM — GATES OPEN & CUP OF TEA CEREMONY Arrive, settle in and start the day together with a cup of tea on us. (The Barn) 12 PM — YOGA & SOUND JOURNEY Karolina & Paul (The Barn) Begin with gentle embodied movement inspired by Yoga and Qigong, gradually moving into an immersive sound bath with gongs, singing bowls and layered ambient music. 2:30 PM — SONG CIRCLE & VOICE ACTIVATION Victoria & Macaulay (The Barn) Awaken and explore your natural voice and sing together as one. 3:30 PM — REGGAE & DUB DJ SET DE JAH VU — Justin & Gosha (The Courtyard) 6 PM — LIVE FOLK MUSIC Lisa Knapp & Gerry Diver (The Barn) 8 PM — THE MEDICINE OF DANCE Movement & DJ Set with Karina + Paul Quinlan (The Courtyard) A playful exploration of movement and self-expression, easing you into the evening dance. Paul finishes the night with some eclectic tunes you can bounce to. FOOD & DRINKS Throughout the day, Corner Smaku will be serving traditional Polish food, including savoury dishes, sweet treats, tea, coffee and a selection of refreshing drinks. THE SETTING The event takes place at Whetstone Pastures Farm, Leicestershire, with the programme spread across the barn and courtyard. Sound bath, the song circle and the Lisa Knapp & Gerry Diver concert will take place inside the barn. The reggae and dub DJ set and the evening Medicine of Dance session will take place in the courtyard under a covered stretch tent. Everything is covered, so we'll be ready whatever the weather brings. There will be some chairs available for the Lisa Knapp & Gerry Diver concert on a first come, first served basis. This is a relaxed festival setup, so you're also welcome to sit or lounge on the ground. Feel free to bring a cushion or something comfortable to sit on. Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring extra layers for the evening. EARLY BIRD TICKETS We're releasing 50 Early Bird tickets for £25 + booking fee. Once the Early Bird tickets have gone, tickets will be £35 + booking fee. WHAT TO BRING For the sound bath, please bring your yoga mat, blanket, cushion and eye pillow if you like to use one. We also recommend bringing something comfortable to sit on, comfortable shoes for movement and dancing, a water bottle and warm layers for the evening. IMPORTANT INFORMATION This is a 16+ event. There are no children's activities, and the programme and atmosphere are designed as an adult-oriented festival day. Exceptions: If you really want to attend but are unable to arrange childcare, please get in touch with us. We will make an exception, so just let us know in advance. Alcohol will not be sold at the event. You are welcome to bring your own alcohol for the evening if you wish.
