Compton Organ Concert – Andrew Nix

We are delighted to welcome Andrew Nix to Grantham’s Compton We are delighted to welcome Andrew Nix to Grantham’s Compton. Born just outside Selby in North Yorkshire, Andrew has established himself as one of the busiest and most popular performers on the organ circuit, combining accomplished musicianship with a natural talent for entertainment. Andrew is equally at home with a wide variety of musical styles and has built a reputation for programmes that offer something for everyone. His repertoire ranges from ballads and Latin music to marches, musicals and popular favourites, all delivered in his own distinctive and refreshing style. A particular feature of Andrew’s performances is his ability to entertain as well as play, with his warm Yorkshire personality and light-hearted humour adding an extra dimension to his concerts. Audiences can expect a lively programme filled with musical variety, plenty of character and Andrew’s trademark wit. Andrew currently performs on a Roland Atelier, an instrument he particularly enjoys for its rich, clear sound and remarkable range of authentic theatre-organ voices. The instrument allows him to recreate the distinctive sounds and atmosphere of the theatre organ while bringing his varied repertoire to audiences across the country. His extensive concert schedule has taken him to venues throughout the UK, where he has become a firm favourite with organ societies and theatre organ enthusiasts alike. We look forward to welcoming Andrew to Grantham for an entertaining and varied concert on our Compton — an afternoon of great music, Yorkshire humour and the unmistakable sound of the theatre organ.
