Voices of Sleaford: A Ukrainian Community Music Project

Join us for Voices of Sleaford, a vibrant in-person music and singing project celebrating the Ukrainian language and culture We are thrilled to announce a brand-new, co-produced Ukrainian singing and music-making project kicking off in Sleaford this September! A massive thank you to Soundlincs, who are making this entire project possible. Thanks to their generous support, they are providing our incredible teacher, Choir Master Christina Dmytryk Clark, to lead us over the next few months. What are we doing? We are hosting eight 90-minute sessions of singing and music-making. Our purpose is simple but powerful: we want to keep the Ukrainian language and culture thriving through music. Nothing is rigidly set in stone because we want to co-produce this with you. Whether you want to sing as a soloist, join the choir, or bring your own instrument to jam along, there is a spot for you. You don't need to be a professional, just bring your enthusiasm! The End Goal: We are building towards a beautiful, co-produced Showcase Concert and Ukraine Fundraiser on Thursday, 19th December. The Details: • 📅 When: 8 sessions (twice monthly). Our first session is Thursday, 5th September at 3:00 PM (doors open from 2:00 PM) • 📍 Where: Sleaford Children’s Centre • 👥 Who can come: Children (accompanied by an adult), host families, neighbours, and friends. This is a warm invitation to anyone who wants to support Ukraine and its culture. How you can help us kick this off: • Spread the word: Invite Ukrainian children and adults across Sleaford and the wider Lincolnshire area. Bring your hosts and neighbours along with you! • Encourage the kids: Help your children get excited to speak and practise singing in Ukrainian. Let’s create something truly special together.
