Dusking: A Storytelling Gathering for the Turning Year

Be part of a new folk tradition, sharing atmospheric old tales as darkness gathers. Looking for a moment to pause, breathe, and reflect, as our lives once again tilt towards oncoming winter? Dusking is a new folk tradition, creating a moment of celebration as darkness creeps back into our skies. This laid-back storytelling gathering is a chance to come together, listen to some atmospheric old tales, and creatively explore the folklore of darkening skies and changing seasons. Our workshop will finish with a collective retelling of a traditional tale, as darkness gathers around us. It aims to provide a moment of celebration, helping us feel more positive, more creative, and more connected, at the very start of winter. Dusking originated among folk dancers, but this gathering reimagines the celebration as a moment for storytelling, too. Seating will be on yoga mats, low stools, or folding chairs. All participants will need to remove their shoes on entry to the studio.
