7th Goodmayes Explorer Community Allotment

Come and grow with us 🌱 Join us for a practical session at the 7th Goodmayes Community Allotment - an award-winning, Explorer Scout-led project bringing young people and the wider community together through gardening, service and time outdoors. Our aim is simple: to help people learn how food is grown, care for the local environment and grow fresh produce for a local foodbank and community kitchen, alongside refugee families in our community. Every session will be slightly different depending on the season and what the allotment needs. You might be sowing seeds, planting, watering, weeding, tending the polytunnel, repairing our equipment, building infrastructure or harvesting produce ready for donation. You don’t need any gardening experience and we’ll explain everything when you arrive. Sessions are relaxed and friendly, and everyone can contribute at their own pace. What to bring Sturdy, closed-toe footwear Comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting muddy A waterproof or warm layer, depending on the weather A water bottle and snacks if you like Gardening gloves, if you have them as we have limited supply. Tools will be provided Please reserve a place for everyone attending, including accompanying adults, so that we can manage numbers safely. Children and young people should attend with a parent, guardian or responsible group leader. Spaces are limited.
