An Evening with Greg Jenner: Celebrity and Memory

Greg Jenner unpacks how celebrity, fame and posthumous glory have shaped who and how we choose to remember. Amidst the many memorials and graves that fill the nave of the nation's church, Greg Jenner will explore how the reputations of famous people from across the ages have been constructed and contested in both life and death. Drawing on examples of individuals buried and remembered inside the Abbey, Greg will reflect on the nature of national memory, the evolution of 'necrotourism' and the history of celebrity pilgrimage.
