Between the Lines

Vex King joins Mark Heywood to explore people-pleasing, self-worth and what happens when we stop living for others’ approval. For the next in our Between the Lines series, host Mark Heywood is joined by #1 Sunday Times bestselling author and mind coach Vex King, whose books have sold millions of copies around the world. With the recent release of his new book, You Can’t Please Everyone, Vex will explore why so many of us find ourselves saying yes when we want to say no, seeking approval, overthinking what others think and putting everyone else’s needs before our own. Together, Vex and Mark will talk about boundaries, self-worth and self-trust and what it takes to stop living according to other people’s expectations and start choosing yourself. Between the Lines is a conversation series that looks past the book and into the life behind it. Hosted by writer and presenter Mark Heywood, each evening invites a leading voice, from authors and artists to cultural figures to go somewhere a little deeper. Not just what they’ve written, but what they’ve lived. It’s about the moments that shape a person: the complicated bits, the turning points and the things that don’t always make it onto the page.
