Campfire Club: Bonfire Night

Join us for an alternative Bonfire Night celebration in the lovely surroundings of London's Cody Dock. At the Nest Collective we love nothing more than sharing in the joy of live music outdoors by the fireside. In the simple way that people have done for thousands of years, we come together around the fire to enjoy music, food, drink and the company of others. This gathering will invite attendees to reflect on the importance of political dissent in society on this meaningful date, and to consider its power as a shaper of community and the future. --------------- Featuring music from: Tarren Tarren is made up of Bristol-based artists Sid Goldsmith (Jimmy Aldridge & Sid Goldsmith, Awake Arise), Alex Garden (The Drystones, Harriet Riley & Alex Garden) and Danny Pedler (Pedler // Russell). They combine cittern and concertina, fiddle, and accordion to create their music, which they call New-Folk. Ghuraba London-based Ghuraba || الغرباء is composed of Mohammed Salih on the Electric Guitar and Abdullah Mufa on Percussion and Ney. Together, they create one-of-a-kind sonic journeys that transport listeners far and wide by blending influences from all over the globe, within a psychedelic melting pot. And more to be announced --------------- Campfire Club audiences say: "Such a joyful community in an amazing venue, everyone coming together." "These events sitting outdoors around fires and listening to music and stories are so important for my soul. A break from our normally hectic lives." "Bonfire Night at Cody Dock totally filled our cup! Beautiful setting bringing folk traditions into the urban docklands and up to date. A chance to honour traditions of the past, and look to the future of folk. 10/10" "It was a beautiful blend of heartfelt creativity, a wonderfully open and engaged crowd, a huge central fire and an unusual, but welcoming outdoor, urban setting." ------------------------ The Nest Collective is a not-for-profit arts organisation.
