Join us for a free exploratory walk around Dagenham, led by artists Yu-Chen Wang and Andro Semeiko-Antelidze, as we discover the local environment through creative observation, collective wandering and sharing. This event is part of Create London’s Creative Walks series. Walking together, we’ll focus on embodied experiences as we look closely at the colours, shapes and textures around us, gathering eco-finds as we explore. We’ll seek out pockets of green in often-overlooked corner plots and uncover their potential for nature, creativity and community. Tracing back through 100-year-old archival documentation of the Becontree Estate, once the UK’s largest housing development, we’ll reflect on past visions of home, such as its original "garden cottage" ideals. From there, we’ll collectively reimagine our shared future: one that is greener, fairer and more resilient in the face of growing climate and environmental challenges. We’ll meet at The White House garden at 11:45am before setting off on our walk at 12pm. At 1:45pm, we’ll return to The White House for warm soup, refreshments and an informal sharing session, creating space to exchange discoveries, observations and ideas from the walk. About the artists Yu-Chen Wang’s work asks fundamental questions about human identity at a key point in history, where ecosystems and technosystems have become inextricably intertwined. Exploring the legacy of industrialisation and its impacts on the environment, her practice spans drawing, text, and performance to multimedia installation. She has recently exhibited at Drawing Room (London, 2026), ArtScience Museum (Singapore, 2025), Manchester Art Gallery (2025), CERN Science Gateway (Geneva, 2025) and Tate Modern (London, 2024). yuchenwang.com Andro Semeiko-Antelidze creates paintings, installations, and artist’s books that construct psychological spaces reflecting his vision of the world. His work examines how we navigate a reality shaped by news and social media, set against the threat of climate disaster and ongoing conflicts. Andro’s work about trees is featured in the latest issue of The Ecological Citizen. In 2026 he presented work exploring the notion of protest at 15 Beautreillis Gallery, Paris.
