'EDI/TADF Cafe' - Therapists Cafe on Otherness, Sameness and Power Inside and Outside Co-facilitated by Leon Berry https://www.asafeplace2talk.co.uk/about-me/ For all therapists passionate about EDI and TADF (https://www.tadf.co.uk) developments, this is an opportunity to meet, network, and try the ‘Cafe Model’ of community development within this framework. The event gives 1.5 hours of CPD – the Cafe model is a pedagogical concept developed by Death Cafe (deathcafe.com) facilitating communities of likeminded people to practice focused listening and empathic resonance with each other. This Café is for all colleagues across disciplines who are working on themselves and their practice to push the envelope for our profession to become as conscious as possible about all aspects of power-processes and how they are expressed intra- and inter-psychically, as well as societally, and to help facilitate holistic change towards equality and equity in society. Psychoanalytic thought is welcome, as we want to include the ‘unconscious’ in our thinking (and action) – e.g. the intersection of formative object relations and cultural process, like splitting, projection and oedipal competition across the fault-lines of structural oppression. Thought from all other therapeutic disciplines, such as humanistic, existential, or integrative is equally welcome as we want to explore thoughts about difference and sameness across disciplines and identities. This Cafe is about networking and inspiring each other, as well as sharing projects we are currently working on.
