Full description from organizerShow less
Katie Shannon (b. Glasgow) is the latest artist to participate in Goldsmiths CCA's ongoing commissioning series, Episodes. Based between Glasgow and London, Shannon works across visual art, performance, writing, and event making. Her practice considers the event as a medium in itself, shaped by long term research-driven projects which unfold within and outside gallery contexts. Drawing on sustained engagement with peripheral musical histories and voices, feminist re-readings of time and space, and fascinations with pedestrian and public forms, her work traces the temporal, socioeconomic, psychogeographical and material conditions that structure shared experience. Recently she was a resident at Flat Time House and currently hosts a radio show with NTS. Shannon approaches her activities as a social form and oppositional gesture, anchoring her work within the politics of attention and refusal. Recent solo and duo exhibitions include Bedding, TINA, London (2026); Compression, research installation and curated event, Flat Time House, London (2026); end-o, Liste Fair, Basel (2026); The Basement, a TLC23 & Joachim Hammou co-operative opera and exhibition, Vermillion Sands, Copenhagen (2026); DEVOCORPOSTO, Neven, London (2025); Vacancy, Celine Gallery (2024); Sicko (duo with Finley Clark), The Horse Hospital, London (2023); FETMIASMAMIS exhibition and curated group performance by TLC23, Le Bourgeois, London (2023); hardcore til i die, Kunsthalle Ost (2022); Which As You Know Means Violence, installation in collaboration with Repeater Books and Philippa Snow, Reference Point (2022); Bad Timing, Lunchtime Gallery, Glasgow (2019); and last song for a waterbaby, Collective Gallery (2019). Group exhibitions include A Charm of Powerful Trouble, ACUD Galerie, Berlin (2026); Collective Monster, Fluk, Svendborg (2026); Systema, Palais Carli, Marseille (2025); Salon, at Flat Time House, London (2025); Corpus, Corpus Gallery (2025); The sun and the sun's reflection, Kendalle Koppe, Glasgow; Salon Sauvage, Gnossienne Gallery, London (2025); Out of Office, Existers, London (2025); The Radar, Plaster Magazine / The Artist Room, London (2025); John is Sick, organised by Kristoffer C.
