Guided tour: Cultural History of Walthamstow Wetlands

Join us on a guided tour to discover what was here before the reservoirs, who were the people who built them, facts about cholera and more! How has the land of Walthamstow Wetlands changed throughout the years? Were the reservoirs always here, how did London's history throughout the 18th and 19th century lead to their creation and who built them? If you've always wanted to learn the answers to these questions and more about the social history of the reserve, join the team of friendly guides on this guided tour. This is a gentle tour around the reserve on paths - there may be some gentle inclines, strong stout footwear is recommended. It will last approximately 2 hours and will be fully outdoors - so dress for the weather! Please bring some water with you. This event is designed for adults aged 18+, but can be inclusive for young people aged 11 and above, who must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. Further information will be sent out prior to the event. Donations to London Wildlife Trust are welcome. All proceeds from this event enable our mission of Nature recovery for a thriving city.
