How the Grinch Stole Christmas | W Film Club

The cynical, green Grinch plots to ruin Whoville's holiday cheer, but a young girl's kindness forces his heart to grow three sizes larger. Your heart is an empty hole... but your evening doesn't have to be! Get ready to laugh your way into the holiday season with Ron Howard’s beloved, wildly entertaining live-action adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas. High atop Mt. Crumpit, the cynical, green, and wonderfully sarcastic Grinch (in a tour-de-force performance by Jim Carrey) lives in solitary isolation, loathing the joyous holiday celebrations of the Christmas-obsessed Whos in Whoville below. Fed up with their singing, cheer, and relentless festivities, the Grinch devises a wicked scheme to dress as Santa Claus and steal Christmas once and for all—taking every present, tree, and roast beast in sight. However, his master plan hits an unexpected bump when he encounters six-year-old Cindy Lou Who (Taylor Momsen), whose genuine warmth and questioning spirit prompt him to discover the true meaning of the season. With Jim Carrey’s unforgettable comedy, Oscar-winning makeup and costume design, and timeless festive charm, this holiday favorite is guaranteed to make your heart grow three sizes! • Director: Ron Howard • Run Time: 1h 44m (104 minutes) • Cast: Jim Carrey, Taylor Momsen, Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, Bill Irwin, Molly Shannon, Anthony Hopkins (Narrator) This film is rated PG.
