Most Africans and people of African descent grew up with two spiritual inheritances and were only ever allowed to admit to one. There was the faith that arrived on a ship with a Bible and a flag, and there was the older thing underneath it. The one your grandmother practised quietly, the dreams nobody dismissed, the names that carried meaning, the libation poured before anyone drank. One of those inheritances got a building and a hymn book. The other got called superstition. Kelechi Okafor sits down with Adwoa and Solomon of Adeche Atelier at Common Sense Studios for an evening on African spirituality and mythology, and what it means to take it seriously as an adult.
