RHS Lindley Late - Flowers from Shakespeare's Garden: Fragrance Workshop

Blend a unique fragrance inspired by the plants woven throughout Shakespeare’s plays and the gardens of the Elizabethan era in this workshop "I know a bank where the wild thyme blows, Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows…" - A Midsummer Night's Dream, Act II Scene I This event is a repeat of the sold out Lindley Late session in August 2026. This workshop will also be repeated on Wednesday 30 September. Through guided scent exploration you will encounter the flowers and herbs that appear in Shakespeare’s writing: roses of love, rosemary for remembrance, violets of modesty, lavender, thyme, and other fragrant plants rich with symbolism. This workshop blends literature, botanical history and perfume, offering a sensory encounter with the plants that shaped Shakespeare’s poetic world. Explore the language of flowers in Shakespeare’s plays, smell botanical essences and herbs, and create a bespoke fragrance to take home. All materials will be provided. RHS membership not required. Event Details Doors open at 6.00pm, with the conversation beginning at 6.30pm. Tickets for this event are limited and must be purchased in advance. To keep the event as accessible as possible you can choose a full price ticket (£16) or a reduced price ticket (£10).The ticket cost supports the RHS Lindley Library. Please note that due to the nature of the Edwardian building, it is necessary for participants of the event to be able to independently manage stairs.
