Keeping Hanwell's music heritage alive and kicking! Come and join the community vibe at our live music pop-up event and help keep the rock 'n' roll music heritage of the Community Centre alive! We're excited to welcome 3 fab live acts to The Hanwell Cavern™ in September... come and support them all and join us in kicking off the weekend with some great live music! IMPORTANT EVENT INFO BELOW - please read in advance! • Doors open at 7pm, the show starts at 7.30pm • Mix of ticket options available - you can reserve a whole table just for your party, or pay a little less for unreserved seating (this sometimes means having to share a table with others, or just having a seat and no table if you get there late) • No hidden ticket fees - the price listed is the price you pay • Advance ticket purchase only, NO tickets on the door • BYOB (Bring Your Own Booze!) - we have glasses, ice buckets & bottle openers, just ask at the bar • NO ALCOHOL FOR SALE but we have a decent dry bar, selling a selection of non-alcoholic beers, ales and stout, soft drinks and mixers, as well as snacks, crisps, nuts, popcorn etc. • Entrance to The Hanwell Cavern is separate to the main Community Centre entrance - it's underground, so head to the left of the car park and down the little slope. • On arrival, please show your Eventbrite ticket on your mobile (or bring a printed copy) • Free car park (space for 50 cars) and cycle racks • Closest train station: Castlebar Park. THE SEPTEMBER LINE-UP: ★ NITHYA ★ Singer Nithya brings her love of legendary female artists to the stage, featuring songs from the likes of Kate Bush, Tina Turner, Shirley Bassey, Dolly Parton, Janis Joplin and more. Nithya has always had two passions: music and science. Growing up in Manchester, she spent her life singing, performing in various bands and working with music producers, alongside a career as a chemist and science teacher. Her love of performing eventually led to the creation of her popular Kate Bush tribute nights. Following requests from her audiences to celebrate other iconic female artists, Diva Nights was born. Come along, unwind and unleash your inner diva! 🎶 ★ TIM GERARD ★ Tim Gerard is a blues-rock, roots and soul-infused singer-songwriter and guitarist whose sound blends melodic hooks, raw storytelling and understated passion. Inspired by artists including Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, The Beatles, Ray LaMontagne, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Albert King, he brings together 60s and 70s influences with a dynamic vocal range and expressive guitar style. Raised across South Africa, Belgium and the UK, and later trained at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Gerard has performed and written across London, Nashville and Los Angeles. His releases include Right From The Start, the EP Country Gold, and recent soul/blues singles, with his next album Crossfire in development ★ BLUEZD ★ Bluezd is a London-based blues, rock, soul and R&B band formed by three brothers — Matthias (guitar/bass), Brouk (guitar/bass), and Adonias (lead vocals, guitar/bass). The brothers formed the band around their shared passion for music, with drummer Louis joining the lineup through Powerjam Bands. Known for their energetic live performances and distinctive blend of blues, rock, soul and R&B, Bluezd have performed at some of the UK's most notable venues and festivals, including the Royal Albert Hall, Ealing Blues Festival, Hanwell Hootie and Bush Hall, as well as New York venues DROM and The Bitter End. With their unique sibling chemistry, powerful live performances and experience across London and New York, the band are now entering a new chapter. Bluezd are rebranding as Azony, reflecting their evolving sound and identity as they move towards a more modern blend of R&B, soul, blues and guitar-driven music. ABOUT THE HANWELL CAVERN™ In the past, many well know bands and musicians played gigs or rehearsed in various rooms at Hanwell Community Centre including The Who, Deep Purple, Procol Harum, Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, The Sweet, Manfred Mann, Gene Vincent, The Animals, Jerry Lee Lewis - and others! The historic Grade II listed building is also where Charlie Chaplin attended school as a child when it was the Central London District School aka Cuckoo Schools, and it is steeped in history. Today, the vaulted basement of the centre gets transformed by volunteers from an empty walk way and delivery area, into an atmospheric, underground pop-up venue called The Hanwell Cavern™ where we host live music events about once a month. All events are not-for-profit, and are run by a small charity of volunteers called Hanwell Community Centre Consortium. Our regular live music events often feature local bands and musicians from Hanwell and the Borough of Ealing.
