Nostre-Dame de Paris By Ambra Castagnetti

Notre-Dame de Paris unfolds as an interdisciplinary sonic and spatial intervention that critically interrogates Victor Hugo’s literary monument. Conceived by artists Ambra Castagnetti , the work recasts gothic archetype into an urgent, contemporary dialogue on alterity, sacred spatiality, and bodily boundary. At the core of the experience is an original composition by Luna Lias, which establishes a tactile, acoustic architecture within the space. Navigating this acoustic terrain are five performers whose gestures interact directly with bespoke sculptural headpieces and masks produced by Ambra Castagnetti. Rejecting traditional theatrical distance, the installation transforms the exhibition site into an active resonance chamber. Sound, physical presence, and raw sculptural forms converge, inviting audiences into a precarious, visceral engagement with identity and form.
