Hosted by celebrated electric bass, tabla and Indian flute-player Shri Sriram, this intimate session invites you to sit back and listen closely to The Inner Mounting Flame by The Mahavishnu Orchestra. The recording reveals a ferocious collision of jazz improvisation, rock power and Indian-influenced rhythms, driven by John McLaughlin’s extraordinary guitar playing. More than 50 years later, it still sounds thrillingly dangerous: virtuosic, intense and constantly on the edge of coming apart. The album will be played on vinyl through the Moonrays reference sound system.
