Studio Photography Workshop

Get the 101 on studio photography with an interactive lesson on camera exposure and lighting set-ups, before having a go yourself! You've got the camera, now learn it's potential. At Studio101, we're passionate about making the visual arts as accessible as possible. This workshop is a new and exciting oppotunity to join our community of fantastic photographers, while getting insider knowledge on using a professional, fully-equipped photographic studio. You'll get: • An hour long lesson on the exposure triangle (shutterspeed, aperture and ISO) and studio lighting set-ups from our studio manager • Practice setting up and placing the lights • Experiment shooting in the studio with one of our in-house models • Individual feedback and tips • Chance to meet fellow budding photographers • 50% off to our Camera Club to keep building those skills! Let's dissect this a bit. First, we will meet and exchange details on our experience and why we want to learn about photography. Next, Nia, our studio manager with over five years professional studio experience, will deliver an interactive lesson demonstrating how each three aspects of the exposure triangle work, and how you can use them to achieve the perfect shot. Next, Nia will demonstate some basic lighting setups in our White Studio, before allowing you to have a go with your own cameras. One of our in-house models will be on hand to pose while we perfect your shots. This will be a collaborative process where you can learn from one another and help adjust your camera settings and lights until you achieve proffesional grade portraits. We'll also be experimenting with angles and positioning during our shooting time too! At the end, we'll have a look at each others pictures and give feedback. This event is best suited for those with no to minimal photography experience. However, even if you have shot many times on a camera, but have little knowledge of technical terms or descriptions, this will be very valuable. Please bring your own camera and feel free to take notes throughout.
