About this event

TAARU is a cultural studio preserving and celebrating literary culture through publishing, archive and social gathering. Beginning with Motunrayo Ilo's personal archive of magazines, TAARU creates new ways to encounter print: reading the work, understanding the people who make it, and exploring the wider cultural worlds around it.

The Open Library invites you to immerse yourself in Motunrayo Ilo's personal archive of print magazines, alongside a selection of books brought by guests on the day. Spend the afternoon exploring the work of prolific writers, designers, photographers and creatives. Browse at your own pace and remain open for conversation. Alongside reading, we will be screening a curated selection of fashion shows, interviews and podcasts. Tea, coffee and pastries will be provided. Magazines available to read : AnOther Magazine, The Gentlewoman, i-D, Dazed, British Vogue, The Cut, DADA Magazine, ICE Magazine, W Magazine, Gida Journal, EE72 Homme Girls & many more.
