The neurological basis of visual discomfort and visual stress

Science+ meeting organised by Professor Arnold J Wilkins and Dr Beverley Burke. Visual discomfort/stress is common and can be debilitating. It has a neurological origin and can be predicted from the characteristics of the visual image. There are far-reaching implications for inclusivity, specifically regarding the design of buildings, lighting, text, and electronic images.
