What If You'd Chosen Differently? -- A Sci-Fi Short Story Club

Philosofriends is trying something new: a science-fiction short story book club Science fiction has always been more than spaceships, robots, and futuristic gadgets. At its best, it's a playground for ideas, a way to explore philosophical questions by imagining worlds where the rules of reality and society are a little different. We'll read a short sci-fi story before meeting and use it as the starting point for an open discussion. The short story for November's book club is: Anxiety is the Dizziness of Freedom by Ted Chiang You don't need to be a science fiction enthusiast to join. Whether you've read every book by Asimov or have never picked up a sci-fi story, you're welcome. No lectures, no homework essays, no right answers. Just interesting stories, big questions, and good conversations. About Philosofriends We're a London-based community of curious people who enjoy exploring philosophy, technology, science, and unconventional ideas. We meet regularly to discuss, question, laugh, and make new friends. Come for the stories, stay for the conversations.
