Cuttlefish Casting with Jacky Oliver

Create your own unique piece of metalwork by carving a design into a cuttlefish bone and casting it in metal. Cuttlefish Casting Participants will draw a design and then carve it into a cuttlefish bone, exploring different textures. They will then melt pewter and pour it into the cuttlefish to create a unique piece of metalwork that they can take home Workshop lead Originally trained in Jewellery at Middlesex University, Jacky went on to study for an MA at the Royal College of Art. Jacky utilizes a range of techniques and processes, including jewellery, silversmithing, blacksmithing and enamelling skills to create small hand held objects through to large-scale architectural pieces , to create work for commissions, residencies and exhibitions.
