This full-day workshop teaches you to correctly chant TWO sacred Sanskrit mantras for clarity, healing, liberation & protection. There is a reason Sanskrit mantras from the Vedas — the ancient roots of yoga — have been preserved for millennia and are still recited today. Many people are unsure whether these mantras should be chanted or sung, or how certain Sanskrit words should be pronounced. This workshop clarifies their Vedic roots and meaning, teaching you how to chant correctly, honouring their original sound and purpose. You’ll learn with precision and care while integrating these profound teachings into your life. Over time, their effects can be deeply transformative. This full-day workshop will teach you how to correctly chant Gāyatrī mantra and Mahāmṛtyuñjaya mantra, understand their meaning, and explore the context and foundations of Vedic chanting. Suitable for beginners and those looking to deepen an existing practice. Please note this full day workshop also provides the option to only attend the morning or afternoon session ie: Gāyatrī mantra or Mahāmṛtyuñjaya mantra, please select your chosen workshop in the ticket booking section. The Gāyatrī mantra is one of the most revered Sanskrit mantras, traditionally associated with the Sun, to awaken inner clarity and illuminate the mind. Its precise recitation can become a meaningful part of a regular spiritual practice. The Mahāmṛtyuñjaya mantra, also known as the Tryambakam Mantra, is traditionally associated with Śiva, the first yogi and source of yogic knowledge. Known as a mantra of healing, protection and inner steadiness, it is often practised during times of illness, uncertainty or significant life transitions. Rather than focusing on death, this mantra is traditionally understood as a practice for dissolving fear / anxiety and cultivating steadiness. It can support: • Healing and protection during illness or recovery • Calming fear and supporting the nervous system • Navigating uncertainty and life transitions • Remaining grounded during challenging periods Join our full day Saturday workshop to learn how to chant these powerful mantra, as handed down through the living Mysore lineage. You will learn how to chant the original Ṛṣi-born (seer / sage) mantra which in turn connects you to its full vibrational power — exactly as it was intended. You may have heard different versions of the Gāyatrī mantra or other Vedic mantras and wondered: • Which one is correct? • Is it disrespectful to mispronounce or sing these mantras? • Is chanting the Vedas different from singing them? Whether you have explored mantras before or are completely new to Vedic chanting, you may wonder if you are learning them in their traditional form. With so many versions of the Gāyatrī mantra and other chants circulating today, it can be difficult to know which approach preserves their original sound and effectiveness. Several authentic lineages continue these traditions today. While they share many principles of pronunciation and recitation, each carries subtle nuances in how the mantras are transmitted and taught. This workshop teaches you how to chant correctly through the living Karnataka/Mysore lineage, honouring the mantras’ roots and precise sound. Suitable for complete beginners and those wishing to refine their recitation. The oldest known Indian scriptures are the vast body of Sanskrit poetry called the Vedas. Considered to be a divine revelation to the ṛṣi-s & ṛṣikās (Seers) of ancient India, Vedic Chanting is bound by strict adherence to six rules Adhyayanam is the process of study that involves repeating exactly as the teacher recites, this has preserved these rules for thousands of years. Please note this authentic recitation is registered by UNESCO as an endangered asset to humanty. Although there are other versions available on youtube, you will be learning the traditional and accurate method of chanting Gāyatrī Mantra as it is was handed down centuries ago, and therefore preserving it’s purity and power. Facilitated by Vedic Mantra Teacher Krupa, a dedicated student of a traditional living lineage in South India that upholds strict recitation standards to preserve the authentic sound of Vedic mantras. Guided by her mentors, Krupa continues her studies while also sharing this sacred practice through teaching and listening experiences. By the end of the workshop you will: • Have a basic introduction to 3 of the 6 rules of Veda recitation. • Learn the rule of Svara – the notes used in Veda chanting that distinguish it from other chanting or music • Learn about aspirated sounds. • Learn about conjugation – how some sounds in Sanskrit change based on a set of rules.
