Register Scarecrow in the Chorleywood Scarecrow Trail 2026

Register to be part of the Chorleywood Magazine Scarecrow Trail 2026 (Fri 2 Oct - Sun 4 Oct) The (11th!) Chorleywood Scarecrow Trail, run by Chorleywood Magazine, supported by John Roberts Estate Agents. Anyone in Chorleywood or Chenies can register to be part of the trail - it is open to all individuals, community groups and businesses. Registration deadline - Friday 25 September (Have your title & location ready when you register - Registration includes your own copy of the Trail Map) 2026 THEME: PLAY TIME Think anything from straw-based Shakespearean character to computer game figures or anything play-related. It could be a playground or Kid's TV scenario, board game inspired story or set-up a group of musicians playing instruments. Remember the more recognisable the better! Translating ideas into scarecrows can be challenging but fun. The most successful ones often have expressive faces, striking poses, relevant props and straw! Pictures below show some past scarecrow crackers Get together with a friend to make a scarecrow double-act - or go even bigger… team up with group members or neighbours to build a tableau. And don't forget to give us a cryptic title or hint to keep everybody guessing! Your scarecrow needs to be in place on the morning of Friday 2 October and remain in place until 6pm on Sunday 4 October. Chorleywood Magazine award winners plus scarecrows receiving the highest number of public votes will be announced in the Winter issue of Chorleywood Magazine. All proceeds from the trail will go to support Chorleywood Primary Schools.
