rojak.rojak's first event, look forward to performances, art, food and lucky draws celebrating Singaporean artists and culture in London! rojak.rojak is a Singaporean-based arts event, bringing together a mix of people, art forms, backgrounds and stories. We understand the importance of finding a sense of belonging in a foreign country and have recognised a growing desire to re-connect with others who share similar cultural backgrounds and experiences. Using art as a means to exchange and re-shape the way we convey our unique stories, we aim to create a platform that supports and gives space to nurture new ideas and potential cross-border collaborations across art forms and industries. We place community at the heart of what we do, creating a ‘home away from home’ that celebrates and commemorates Singapore’s multicultural identity where diverse communities blend into a unified and harmonious society, otherwise referred to as ‘Rojak’. The performance will have 6 acts in total, consisting a line-up of curated dance pieces alongside presentations of work from various other art forms. There will also be live drawing during the day, as we wanted a unique and more personal touch to capture the event while also being able to support fellow independent artists. The sketch artists' works will be displayed at a booth and will be available for purchase as a souvenir to be taken home! A lucky draw will take place at multiple points throughout the day, with beloved Singaporean products and goodies to be won! What is the Singaporean spirit without food? Which is why we have also partnered with Yumm Singa who will be serving delicious local Singaporean dishes for the first 40 participants free of charge! If you would like to make a small contribution to our event, you can also buy us a kopi! All donations will go towards supporting our artists and growing our event for future iterations.
