About this event

An event explores biological intersections shaping development, tissue repair, immunity and therapies.

Full description from organizer

Exploring the biological intersections that shape development, tissue repair, immunity and next-generation therapies. Following the success of the first two editions in 2022 and 2024, we are delighted to announce the third Stemness, Regeneration and Immunity Symposium, bringing together leading researchers from stem cell biology, immunology, developmental biology and regenerative medicine to explore how these interconnected disciplines are transforming our understanding of human health and disease. This two-day international symposium will examine the molecular and cellular mechanisms that govern cell identity, tissue organisation, immune tolerance and regeneration across multiple biological systems. A central question underlying the meeting is how the intersections between stemness, immunity and development shape tissue physiology, and how targeting these pathways can lead to transformative new therapies. The programme will bring together internationally recognised experts spanning basic discovery science, developmental processes and translational research. Discussions will address how regenerative and developmental programmes are disrupted in disease, how immune responses support or constrain tissue repair, and how emerging technologies are enabling the next generation of cell, gene and immune-based therapies. The symposium will feature two keynote lectures, invited presentations from leading international scientists, selected short talks, flash presentations and poster sessions. Dedicated networking opportunities, roundtable discussions and trainee-focused activities will foster interactions between early-career researchers and established leaders in the field. We warmly welcome the participation from scientists, clinicians and trainees interested in understanding how the convergence of stem cell biology, immunity and regeneration can drive future therapeutic innovation and address major unmet medical needs. Keynote Speakers Gill Bates (University College London, UK) Neurodegeneration, Huntington's disease and translational neuroscience. Fred Ramsdell (Sonoma Biotherapeutics, USA) 2025 Nobel Laurate - Regulatory T-cell biology, immune tolerance and therapeutic immunology. Scientific Sessions • Immune Tolerance: Regulatory Circuits and Molecular Mechanisms • Haematopoiesis and Beyond: Stem Cell Fate in Regeneration and Cancer • The Integrated Immune System: Microbiota, Barrier Tissues and Systemic Crosstalk • Development in Motion: Plasticity, Patterning and Cell Identity • From Mechanism to Medicine: Next-Generation Therapies Programme Highlights • Two keynote lectures • International invited speakers from Europe, North America and Asia • Selected short talks from submitted abstracts • Flash talks and poster presentations • Roundtable discussions on emerging opportunities and challenges in the field • Networking sessions for trainees and early-career researchers • Informal breakfast and lunch discussions with invited speakers • Opportunities to engage with journal editors and scientific stakeholders Abstract Submission Abstract submissions will be invited for short talks, flash talks and poster presentations. We particularly encourage submissions from students, postdoctoral researchers and other early-career researchers. Please submit your abstract for a poster or oral presentation using this form - deadline is 15 January 2027. For a list of confirmed speakers, please check the Crick website. Full programme will be released soon.
