Building Tearing, Repairing by Lula Braimbridge and Martha Barr

Join us in revelling in and reconnecting with our living, breathing, fluid bodies through drawing, writing, or simply witnessing. In this era of isolation, creative consumerism, and AI, we ask you to slow down, touch the skin of the earth and re-establish a curious mind and body. In the performance Building, Tearing, Repairing Lula and Martha’s practices combine into an energy exchange of body and material, using processes of moving and creating to think, evolve and connect. While Martha grapples with the raw unpredictability of clay, embracing its weight, spillage, and resistance, Lula becomes both a support and a disruptor, seeking solace within. She looks for comfort as Martha builds an ever-morphing skin that collapses and reconstructs around Lula’s body. As time passes, clay becomes the force that brings them together. *Performance contains nudity We are sorry to say, this space is not wheelchair-accessible due to their being no lifts to the floors we are able to use.
