Screening of La Règle du Jeu La Règle du Jeu: The Rules of the Game (historical drama 1939) Cert PG 1hr 50minsp Director: Jean Renoir Made on the cusp of WW11 and set in a country house; trouble is brewing upstairs and downstairs resulting in violence, bad faith and broken hearts. A groundbreaking film in terms of characterisation and style, it has been described as ‘an interrogation of spontaneity, convention and self-deception.' Film starts at 7pm, - no trailers, no advertisements. Refreshments will be available free of charge in the foyer prior to the screening. Please bring your own cup/mug to reduce waste. A limited number of tickets will also be available on the door - £6 cash or card. Alliance Française members wishing to take advantage of the two tickets for the price of one offer should purchase one ticket through Eventbrite by emailing [email protected] or phoning 07742 982632 to reserve the free ticket. Refunds (less the booking fee) are available until midday on the date of screening should you wish to cancel for any reason. In the event the organisers have to cancel, refunds will be given to all in full.
