MFF2027: Bev Lee Harling & Tara MacLean

Part of Manchester Folk Festival 2027. This show will take place in Carole Nash Hall within the Stoller Hall building. Through a partnership between English folk Expo and Music PEI, Bev Lee Harling has been working with Canadian artist Tara MacLean in a very special pan-Atlantic project. Following time spent together in Prince Edward Island and in Manchester, this concert will be a chance to hear some of the music from two wonderfully talented singer-songwriters. Bev Lee Harling is a multi-genre vocalist, violinist, composer and storyteller whose work spans performance, theatre, dance and interactive installations. Blending folk, classical and experimental found sounds, Bev has an innovative approach to music through storytelling and her Hastings, UK heritage. Her latest project, Ploughing the Salt Sea, explores her female fishing family heritage through a one-woman music theatre show and album released on a seaside postcard and funded by the UK Arts Council and Help Musicians. Canadian singer/songwriter Tara MacLean has been an internationally renowned and award winning recording and touring artist for over 25 years. She released her first album with the Nettwerk Music Group in 1996 and Sony Music Publishing Canada. Since then has been signed with Capitol Records, and EMI Canada with her JUNO nominated band Shaye. She has written and recorded seven solo albums and two with the band.
