Hand Made Stencil Printing Taster Workshop

Have you ever wanted to make your own stencil print, but didn't know where to start? This taster workshop is the intro you need. Join Teesside artist, Jessica, for the perfect taster workshop to introduce you to a world of hand-made stencil printing (also known as pochoir). In this session you will create your own hand-cut stencil and learn to build up colour layer on layer until a pattern grows. Cut a shape from paper. Push colour through it. Move it, turn it and do it again. This is a very unusual printing technique used to colour art books a hundred years ago, and it still looks beautiful today. You will go home with your set of prints, stencils and a way of doing art that needs just a sheet of paper, a craft knife and some colour.
