Make your own Lampshade with Light Owl - Middlesbrough Craft Workshop

Lampshade workshops are all about having fun, learning a new skill & taking home a beautiful handmade lampshade in your own design and style Schedule Summary In the workshop you will make either a 25cm, 30cm, 35cm or 40cm double sided drum lampshade in either table or pendant orientation. Our workshop starts with a discussion about colour, pattern and how double sided lampshades work. We will discuss lampshade placement in the home and sizing techniques. • Choose your size from: • 25cm wide x 21cm tall (£40) • 30cm wide x 21cm tall (£45) • 35cm wide x 24cm tall (£50) • 40cm wide x 24cm tall (£55) • Table or pendant orientation • Lampshades are Drum Shaped. • You will then you get to choose your fabrics from our extensive collection, paying close attention to pairing combinations and pattern placement. You are also free to bring your own fabric. • We will discuss in detail all of the parts of the lampshade and how they all work independantly as part of the whole structure as well as the tools required to make your shade. • Once you have an understanding of all the parts we will prep your chosen fabric and the lampshade rings. • You will then cut and adhere all of the fabric to the shade backing, carefully working your way from the inside out and layering the fabric and PVC in the correct order. • Lastly, you will assemble the lampshade by rolling, pressing and tucking, all by hand in the traditional way. The workshop will take between 2 to 3 hours and there will be ample opportunity to ask questions and develop a great understanding. You don’t need to bring anything with you.
