Presented at St Mary's Luton Parish Church in Luton, a contemporary venue renowned for its excellent acoustics and intimate atmosphere, the concert invites audiences to rediscover some of the most celebrated songs in pop history through original instrumental arrangements. ABBA’s music is instantly recognisable: radiant melodies, sophisticated harmonies and infectious rhythms, often accompanied by an unexpected undercurrent of tenderness and melancholy. These contrasting qualities are explored through fresh arrangements, revealing new colours and nuances within songs that have united generations of listeners. The programme brings together exhilarating dance-floor anthems, lyrical ballads and enduring favourites, including Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia, Waterloo, The Winner Takes It All, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!, Money, Money, Money and more. More than half a century after ABBA’s international breakthrough with Waterloo, their songs remain as immediate, joyful and emotionally resonant as ever.
