Delivered in partnership with Space North East England and the CySpace Connected Capability Network this unique event connects Space and Cyber Clusters from across the UK. Together, we will examine the critical role of cyber security in modern space infrastructure and highlight the latest innovations driving the sector forward.This session highlights the North East’s home-grown talent, featuring real-world case studies from organisations that leveraged collaborative funding to successfully pivot into the space industry. An expert panel will unpack emerging market opportunities, discuss cross-cluster collaboration, and answer your questions directly. Featuring key plenaries from: Jessie Hamill-Stewart Cyber Security CDT (PhD) researcher at University of Bristol and University of Bath, conducting interdisciplinary research about the cyber security and resilience of space infrastructure. She is also Programme Lead for the CySpace Connected Capability Network, funded by Satellite Applications Catapult, which involves mapping capabilities and requirements relating to cyber security and space domain awareness throughout the UK.Khurram Hussain Khurram is the Head of Operations for AmbaSat Ltd, a space technology and applications company based in Northallerton, North Yorkshire. AmbaSat evolved from an end-to-end environmental monitoring business, leveraging their sensor and gateway systems to develop a modular payload space satellite. Their satellites will enable organisations to gain orbital flight heritage for innovative technologies, such as a NESCA-funded project with Newcastle University to translate electrically driven quantum light-source technology from the laboratory towards compact satellite applications.
