Get The Blessing Pete Judge (Trumpet) Jake McMurchie (Saxophone) Jim Barr (Bass) Dave Smith (Drums) Through a love of Ornette Coleman, formed in 1999 by regular Portishead and Radiohea collaborators Jim Barr and Clive Deamer, Get The Blessing forged a sound in jazz that opened the doors to new generations of jazz audiences, and more importantly jazz musicians resulting in alternative breakthrough acts that has included GoGo Penguin, Ishmael Ensemble, Yazz Ahmed and Mammal Hands. A fusion of submersive fx laden sax and trumpets, infectious beats, killer bass lines and collective spontaneity Get The Blessing produce incredibly infectious and compelling music. Based in the North of England but now performing across the UK and internationally Dilettante has supported the likes of Caribou, Self Esteem + Philip Selway (Radiohead) with her unorthodox but intricately woven looped woodwind and fuzzy guitar licks. Dilettante is one of the most exciting acts to have emerged in Northern UK in recent years. With music steeped in modern history, in one moment she conjures up images of great new wave bands such as Talking Heads, then flipped in a moment she’s a skewed modern jazz crooner.
