Full description from organizer

Practical training to help you understand your customers, find useful content ideas and use AI without losing your own voice. About this event Has creating content somehow become part of your job?Perhaps you run your own business. Perhaps you have been asked to look after the company’s social media, update the website or write the occasional email. You know your business but deciding what to say about it to attract the right customers, can be another matter. The Accidental Content Creator Training is a practical, collaborative and practical workshop for people who need to create business content but have never been trained to do it.We’ll start with the people you want to reach, decide what what they need to help them take the next step and look at how that can be used to encourage them to come to you. From there, we’ll explore how to turn your knowledge and experience into clear, useful content that will build your business and ultimately help the only metric that matters… increased revenue. What this isn’t is a ‘click here’ one size fits all course. Neither is it a ‘this is how to post on Facebook’ kind of session. This is all about a working method. A way of thinking that will get you the right content… regardless of where it is being used. You don’t need to be a polished writer or a marketing expert. Bring your understanding of your business and a willingness to try a few ideas. What will you learn? During the workshop, we’ll work through five areas: • Understand what your customers want. Explore their questions, concerns and motivations so you can create content that matters to them. • Write in clear, human language. Explain what you do and why it matters to your customers and clients, using language they will connect with. • Choose suitable content and formats. Decide when a social post, website page, blog, email or video will best serve your purpose. • Use AI with confidence and judgement. Learn how to give it useful direction, assess its suggestions and keep your own knowledge and voice in the finished content. • Build a manageable 30-day content plan. Bring your ideas together into a realistic plan that fits around you. No ‘you must post this much’ or unworkable schedules. The aim is to leave with a clearer understanding of what to communicate, useful ideas for your business and a practical starting point for the month ahead. There will also be a free 30 minute mentoring session with the trainer as a follow on to the course. Who is it for? This workshop is suitable for: • Small-business owners and sole traders who create their own marketing content. • Retailers and local service businesses looking for more relevant things to share. • Employees who have taken on responsibility for social media, website updates or other business content. • Professionals who want to communicate their expertise more clearly. How will the session work? It is a packed three-hour session that combines explanations, examples, practical exercises and discussion. We do a lot but don’t worry, there is a break included. You’ll have opportunities to apply the ideas to your own business and ask questions along the way. Meet your trainer The workshop is delivered by Kevin Lee Robinson - The Content Generator. Kevin brings more than 20 years’ experience as a university lecturer, alongside commercial experience in writing, sales and marketing. His approach helps people understand what makes content useful and gives them the confidence to put that understanding into practice. Frequently asked questions Do I need any previous marketing experience? No. The workshop is designed for people who have picked up content responsibilities as part of running a business or doing their job. Will this help with content beyond social media? Yes. In fact, social media is just a way of achieving a goal. Too many courses focus purely on ‘post, post post’ approaches but other methods may be more appropriate to get a result. We’ll explore principles. Things you can apply to website pages, blogs, emails and video as well as social posts. Will we cover AI? Yes. We’ll look at how AI can support ideas and writing, how to give it better instructions and how to review its output so the finished content reflects your business Short organiser description The Business Community is running this practical workshop in association with The Content Generator. The purpose is to bring business connections and content expertise together to help owners, professionals and employees communicate more clearly.
