Festive family willow weaving workshop

Join the Coddiwomplers for a family workshop for children aged 8 and above. Family Christmas Willow Workshop with The Coddiwomplers Join The Coddiwomplers for a festive family workshop this Christmas and discover the traditional craft of willow weaving together. Mr F and Mrs F are both experienced primary school teachers and basket makers, so they’re very used to working with children and families. This relaxed and friendly workshop is designed to give children the chance to get creative, learn a traditional craft and make something they can take home and enjoy at Christmas. Children aged 8 and above are warmly welcomed to work alongside a parent or accompanying adult. During the session, you’ll have the opportunity to create up to three festive willow decorations, including a cute mini reindeer, a woven Christmas tree and a spiral-weave Christmas tree. There’s no previous experience needed. We’ll demonstrate each technique and guide you through the process, so you can work at your own pace and enjoy making something together. Willow is a wonderfully tactile and forgiving material, and these projects are a lovely introduction to traditional basket-making and weaving. Booking information: Please book one ticket for each child attending. Each child must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult, with a maximum of two children per accompanying adult. Come along, get your hands stuck into some willow and start your Christmas with a few handmade decorations — and possibly a few of Mr F’s legendary jokes along the way!
