Stephen Moss in conversation with Nick Acheson

Stephen Moss and Nick Acheson explore the fascinating life, folklore and cultural legacy of Britain’s beloved puffin. Join Stephen Moss in conversation with Nick Acheson where they will discuss his new book, The Puffin: A Biography, also touching on Stephen’s bird biography series and his life as an author and broadcaster. The book is a beautifully illustrated celebration of one of Britain’s most beloved birds: the charming, comical yet mysterious puffin. The puffin’s bright orange bill and striking black-and-white plumage have made it one of our most iconic seabirds. It has charmed nature lovers and inspired countless fables and stories, as well as becoming an emblem for children's literature. Follow the lifecycle of the puffin throughout a calendar year: from egg and nestling to juvenile puffling, to the adult bird’s courtship, breeding and feeding habits, and discover its place in popular and literary culture. Doors open and bar at 6.30pm. As an event attendee, you will be eligible for free parking. Accessibility We want our events, and nature itself, to be accessible to everyone.
