Who Is Growing In Your Garden?

Who's in Your Rose Bed? This short talk will explore the remarkable people behind the roses we know, love and grow in our gardens. Every rose has a story. Some honour queens, artists or gardeners. Others commemorate war heroes, philanthropists, loved ones, or people now almost forgotten by history. Why was a rose named after them? What did they do to deserve such an honour? And what secrets lie behind some of the world's most famous rose names? Join us for an interesting journey through the lives, achievements, triumphs and occasional scandals of the people immortalised in roses. You may never look at your garden in quite the same way again. This talk will be led by our horticultural expert Dawn and is part of our free Gardening Club Series.
