Wildfowl workshop

Discover Norfolk’s wintering wildfowl, learn to identify migratory species and explore how climate change affects their journeys. The wetlands and coast of Norfolk provide sanctuary for internationally important populations of ducks, geese and swans and the winter months are the best time to appreciate the numbers and diversity of these birds. Their astonishing migrations bring birds from as far afield as Eastern Siberia, Greenland and Iceland to their traditional wintering grounds. This workshop will help participants to recognise these birds and gain knowledge of where and when to see them. We will also consider the effect of climate change on the migratory habits of some of these species. The workshop will take place in the classroom in the morning and we will set out onto the reserve in the afternoon (weather permitting). As an event attendee, you will be eligible for free parking.
