Building Visit to The Hexagon Theatre, Reading

Visit to see ongoing construction of the new building work at the theatre designed by Haworth Tomkins, courtesy of Feltham Construction. Join us at The Hexagon, Reading with Feltham Construction to see how building work is progressing. This is a joint visit between RIBA Oxfordshire and RIBA Berkshire. The project extends and refurbishes the existing brutalist 1977 Hexagon theatre to provide a flexible studio theatre and community arts facility. The works replace an underused single-storey backstage block with a compact new building containing a 200-seat (300 standing) adaptable auditorium, flexible foyer and rehearsal studio, a new scene dock and new back of house performer facilities. The new accommodation allows the venue to broaden its programme while enabling simultaneous use of the existing theatre and studio spaces. (image courtesy of Haworth Tomkins) About the tour PPE is required - Hard Hat, Hi Vis coat or vest, and sturdy shoes / boots, they don’t need to be steel toe cap for visiting site, but must be sturdy footwear..
