Butcher’s Night at The George

Hosted by head chef Dean, our butchers Calnans of Watlington, Mary and Scarlett, this event is all about meat - cuts, provenance & quality. We are really passionate about local produce at The George, and nothing excites us more than meat produced as close to us as possible. Join is for a journey deep into meat, with guest speaker and the best butcher in the area Tom Calnan joining our team for the evening to talk to you about all things meat. On the agenda is why supermarket steaks never quite cut the mustard, how less expensive cuts of meat often have more flavour, plus information on where the meat he supplies us comes from, how it is produced, and how it reaches our kitchen. Then get stuck right in to a cut of your choice, cooked to perfection on our Japanese Konro Charcoal BBQ. You'll also have the opportunity to ask questions to Tom, head chef Dean and his team, and even take a sneaky peek around our kitchen if you fancy. Of course, no steak night is complete without a serious red to complete the experience, and our resident wine guru and GM Mary and restuarant manager Scarlett will discuss some of their favourite pairings and personal recommendations. Other beverages are also available... Bookings are strictly limited to 40, with advance payment required to enable us to plan the event accurately.
