From Legumes to Livestock | A NUE-Leg Workshop (Trenance Farm)

Discover how legumes can improve nitrogen efficiency and reduce feed and fertiliser reliance. Join us for a practical and interactive workshop exploring how legumes can help livestock and dairy farmers improve nitrogen use efficiency, increase home-grown protein production, and reduce reliance on purchased feed and fertiliser. Drawing on the latest insights from the NUE-Leg project and real farm experiences, the session will focus on what legume-based systems could mean in practice for livestock and dairy businesses. Through discussion, knowledge sharing and practical examples, we will explore the key question: Can legumes help us grow more of the protein livestock need, use that protein more efficiently and reduce reliance on bought-in feed and fertiliser? The workshop is designed to be conversational and collaborative, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions, exchange experiences and discuss practical applications for your own farm.
