Rat Rides CC Cranksgiving 2026

Cranksgiving Plymouth 2026: Ride, Shop, Donate! Part scavenger hunt, part food drive, 100% on two wheels.Cranksgiving is a community cycling event with a purpose. It’s not about how fast you can sprint—it’s about how smart you can navigate, how much food you can carry, and how we can support Plymouth Foodbankahead of the winter season.📜 The Cranksgiving Story First organised in New York City in 1999, Cranksgiving began as a grassroots way for local cyclists to give back to their communities. Over the last 25+ years, it has grown into an international movement, with hundreds of cities across the globe hosting their own rides every autumn. This year, Rat Rides CC is officially bringing Plymouth’s first-ever Cranksgiving to life!🎄 Get Festive! 🎅 We would love for everyone to get into the holiday spirit for this ride! We highly encourage you to decorate your bike—wrap it in fairy lights, tinsel, or bring along your favourite Christmas-themed gear. Let's light up the streets of Plymouth while doing some good! How it works: • Manifest & Checklist: At the starting line, you'll receive a checklist of high-priority grocery items. • Choose Your Route: There is no set course. You will map your own route across Plymouth, hitting local supermarkets to source the required items. • The Finish Line: We will all meet up at the final destination to pile up our haul, donate it to the food bank, and hang out! What you need to bring: • A working bicycle and a helmet • A backpack, panniers, or a cargo rack (the more cargo capacity, the better!) • Roughly £10–£20 to buy the food items • A lock for your bike when you pop into shops • Plenty of lights and festive decorations! Whether you are a seasoned commuter, a weekend roadie, a cargo-bike parent, or a total beginner—everyone is welcome. Ride solo, or grab some mates and tackle it as a team.🎟️ Registration is completely FREE, but signing up here helps us track numbers and print enough checklists for everyone on the day!
