Wembury to Heybrook Bay: Guided Coastal Walk

Explore the South Devon coast with Ortava Outdoors Fancy getting outdoors, meeting new people and enjoying some fresh sea air? Join us for a relaxed Saturday morning coastal walk from Wembury to Heybrook Bay, taking in beautiful views of the Great Mewstone and Plymouth Sound along the way. We’ll follow the South West Coast Path towards Heybrook Bay before returning to Wembury, enjoying the scenery and a friendly, sociable atmosphere. This walk is ideal for anyone looking to explore more of the local coastline, try a guided group walk or simply enjoy a couple of hours outdoors. There are some hills and uneven sections, but we’ll keep a comfortable pace with plenty of opportunity to enjoy the views. Walk details • Date: Saturday 21 November 2026 • Time: 9:30am–11:30am • Distance: 4.75km (approximately 3 miles) • Ascent: 114m • Difficulty: Easy–moderate • Meeting point: Wembury Beach National Trust car park, PL9 0HR • Cost: £5 per person • Walk leader: Julie, Ortava Outdoors What to bring Please wear suitable walking footwear (the path can get very muddy in some sections at this time of year) and clothing appropriate for the weather. We recommend bringing a waterproof jacket, water and a small snack. A few things to know The route includes coastal paths, hills and uneven ground, so a reasonable level of mobility is required. Parking charges may apply at Wembury Beach car park although it's free for National Trust members (Bring your NT membership card to scan at the machine). (There is also free on road parking available on the hill as you approach the beach - it's then a short walk down to our meeting point).
