Construction Networking Event

Connecting construction-based businesses together in the Hampshire, Solent, and surrounding areas. Let's get construction talking. There is a lot happening across construction right now. From skills shortages and rising costs to new technologies, changing expectations and the everyday challenge of finding the right people to work with. But sometimes what's missing is simply an opportunity to get everyone in the same room. That's why Rachael Smith of Light House Studio and Fareham Innovation Centre are bringing together people from across the local construction community for a new quarterly construction networking event. This isn't a conference and there won't be a packed agenda of presentations. It's deliberately designed to give you time to meet people, have useful conversations and build relationships. Why come along? Whether you work directly in construction or provide services to the sector, this is an opportunity to: • Meet other businesses and people working across the construction industry • Make new contacts and strengthen existing relationships • Find potential suppliers, partners and collaborators • Explore new business opportunities • Share experiences and talk about some of the challenges facing the sector • Exchange ideas and learn what other businesses are doing • Become better connected with the construction community across the area And, importantly, there will be plenty of actual networking time. Why are we doing it? Following the success of our The Future of Construction and the Hampshire and Solent Construction Partnership Round Table events this year, one thing was clear: there's a real appetite for more opportunities to bring the local construction community together. We want to keep that momentum going by creating a regular, informal space for people across the sector to connect, build relationships, share ideas and help move the construction community forward. What to expect Most of the two-hour session will be dedicated to informal networking. Rachael Smith of Light House Studio will also give a short five-minute introduction explaining why she wanted to create the quarterly event and her hopes for building a stronger, better-connected local construction community. Then it's over to you. Come with some business cards, meet people you don't already know and see where the conversations take you. Date: Thursday 19 November 2026 Time: 10.00am to 12.00pm Location: Fareham Innovation Centre. Merlin House, 4 Meteor Way, Lee-on-the-Solent, PO13 9FU (free large car park on site) Who is it for? That could include people working in: • Construction and contracting • Architecture and design • Civil engineering • Property and development • Trades and specialist contractors • Construction technology • Sustainability and energy • Recruitment and skills • Education and training • Professional services • Suppliers and equipment • Local authorities and organisations supporting the sector You don't need to fit neatly into one of those categories.
