Exhibition opening reception

Exhibition of architectural models, panel discussion and reception at Oxford Brookes School of Architecture Join us to celebrate the opening of our exhibition of architectural models with a panel discussion and reception. This event follows the inaugural architectural model-making summer school which took place in June 2026 as a collaboration between 30 students from Oxford School of Architecture, Oxfordshire Society of Architects and 6 local architectural practices: • Vivid Architects • Transition by Design • Original Field • Trace Architects • Stanhope Wilkinson Architects • Keeps Architects Venue: Oxford Brookes School of Architecture The Glass Tank, Abercrombie Building, Oxford Brookes University, Headington Campus. Oxford. OX3 0BP Date: Friday 9th October 2026 Time: 5-8pm Organiser: OxArch with Oxfordshire Society of Architects and Oxford School of Architecture Panellists: Local architects, students and stakeholders Invited Speaker: Gareth Verbist who leads the model shop at Allies and Morrison and will talk on the use of modelling as a design tool and for presentations. 30 students spent a week making models of live projects with practitioners from 6 local practices using the workshop and facilities at Oxford Brookes over the summer vacation. This exhibition and event celebrates the results and outcomes of the summer school. Panellists and speakers will discuss how physical models are used to develop designs and communicate projects to clients. Thanks to Head of School Christina Godiksen who supported the summer school, offered the use of the workshop at Oxford Brookes over the summer holidays and enabled the exhibition to take place. During the evening there will be a dedicated bar and opportunity to talk to students, other architects and professionals and members of the public.
