Behind The Scenes Lifeboat Station Tour

Get an insiders view of what goes on behind the scenes, talk to the crew and get up and close to our two lifeboats. Come and visit us at RNLI Bridlington Lifeboat Station, the oldest working RNLI lifeboat location in the Yorkshire and Humber region. Learn about the lifesaving work of the RNLI, explore our unique lifeboat station and see our Shannon-Class and D Class Lifeboats. Each tour at RNLI’s Bridlington's Lifeboat Station lasts approximately 45 -60 minutes. During your visit, you will be guided around the station and learn about the vital lifesaving work carried out on the Yorkshire Coast. The tour provides insight into lifeboat operations, the history and mission of the RNLI, and the role the station plays today The RNLI is a charity funded by donations; we rely on the generosity of the public to keep saving lives at sea. Your visit helps power that mission, and we hope you leave inspired by the people, the purpose, and the impact of the RNLI. As part of the tour, we’ll be excited to show you: • The visitor centre and shop • Crew kit room • The boat house • The Shannon Class All Weather Lifeboat • The D Class In Shore Lifeboat Parts of the tour will take place in the boat house, so visitors are advised to wear appropriate clothing for the weather and flat, sturdy footwear. As the station is operational, should the lifeboat be called out, or the station facilities are required for an emergency, we may need to adapt the tour or limit the areas of the station that are accessible. We reserve the right to cancel the visit, if necessary, for the safety of visitors and station volunteers. Access to some areas may be limited, particularly for those with reduced mobility, depending on operational and environmental conditions. Our volunteer guides will always do their best to adapt the tour to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors. Please make us aware of any mobility requirements ahead of your visit. Children must be supervised at all times by a responsible adult.
